Turn a webinar into short clips with an AI agent

Webinar recording to short clips

The recording goes into your media library first; the agent analyzes it, picks sections, quotes them, and renders the ones you approve.

Credits: 480 — 120 credits for the analysis when the task is created, plus 120 per rendered clip, without voice-over.

The task

Three clips from a webinar

Prompt

Cut the webinar recording I uploaded to Shotmatic into three vertical clips: the product demo, the best audience question, and the closing advice. Quote the clips before rendering.

Calls it leads to

  1. 1list_media(type: "video", sort: "recent")Finds the recording in your library and its media id. (A small file can go up with upload_media instead.)
  2. 2create_clip_task(source_type: "media", number_of_sections: 3, aspect_ratio: "9:16")Analyzes the library video; this charges the source analysis.
  3. 3wait_for_clip_taskWaits up to 25 seconds per call until the sections are ready.
  4. 4quote_clip_sectionsPrices the three sections you chose.
  5. 5render_clip_sectionsRenders them after you approve.
  6. 6get_videoReturns each finished clip.
You get
Three 9:16 clips, each a video in your library.

Limits
  • Clip tasks take an uploaded file or a media library video. YouTube links and other remote URLs are refused while URL import is off.
  • The recording must fit the current analysis length limit. A longer one is refused before anything is charged, with the limit in the error.
  • upload_media takes files up to 500 MB, but a file sent as base64 travels inside the MCP request. Upload a long recording in the Shotmatic creator instead, which saves it to your media library, and let the agent find it with list_media.
