AI clip maker for long videos
Find the moment that matters.
Upload a long video and Shotmatic suggests its strongest moments; you pick the sections, check the credit quote and render vertical, square or landscape clips.
Long recordings hold short moments worth sharing: the answer in an interview, the tip in a webinar, the turn in a story. Shotmatic analyzes a video you upload, suggests self-contained sections with their timing, and renders the ones you pick as short clips with captions.
It works on footage you own or have permission to repurpose. The video has to come from your computer or your Shotmatic media library: pasting a YouTube link or any other URL is not available yet.
How Shotmatic picks moments
When you create a clip task, Shotmatic analyzes the whole video and returns candidate sections. You can steer it with an optional theme, such as "the practical tips", and set an approximate number of clips and their shortest and longest length.
You then choose which sections to render. The quote shows the credits and the combined length of your selection before anything renders, and rendering charges only for the sections you pick.
How long can the source be?
The longest video Shotmatic can analyze depends on the current analysis budget, so the creator checks your file before anything is charged. If it is too long, you see the limit and can upload an excerpt instead.
Captions and sound
Rendered clips carry captions taken from the speech. You can add an AI voice-over to each clip, which costs more, and choose whether to add background music under the original sound.

Run it from code or an agent
The hosted MCP server and the REST API run the same creation steps. This is the create_clip_task call for this format; angle brackets mark your own values.
